ISPI Model
The International Society of Performance Improvement developed the ISPI model of Human Performance Technology for which is one of the top HPT organizations in the world. The model is based off of the ADDIE Dick and Carey model of instructional design. Similar to the Dick and Carey model, the ISPI model follows a process to identify a need and follows the steps to deliver a solution. The ISPI model starts with a performance analysis to identify the performance gap. A cause analysis is then conducted to examine the discrepancies identified through performance analysis and determines the root causes of these discrepancies. Once the performance and cause analysis are completed intervention selection then begins. Tools and techniques are selected to meet the specific needs of the organization. After the design and development of the intervention is completed the interventions are then implemented. After each phase of the process an evaluation is conducted to help determine the response of employees and their willingness to implement the desired behaviors.
