Pre-Job Briefing
The goal of the pre-job briefing is to make sure the manager or supervisor and potential worker understand the scope and responsibilities of the work to be performed by discussing tasks or job duties. Discussed in the pre-job briefing:
- Understanding of any hazards or job related safety concerns
- Security
- Environmental controls
When conducted?
These briefing are required for all moderate and high risks/hazard work activities. They should be conducted before work starts, as frequently as necessary. For example:
- When assignments or job responsibilities change or the work scope changes
- When new employed join the work activities
- Work conditions change that affect the safety and security of the work environment
- Work resumes after an extended period of inactivity or when the work is absent from the work period for an extended period of time.

- Review of information by the manager or supervisor
