Super-System Map
What is it?
The Super-System map was introduced as an organizational diagram to show the relationship between a company, its customers, suppliers, and shareholders. It’s usually divided into these four groups and then the relationship between competitors, governmental, economic and cultural environments, and how it related to the market segment and resources.
How is it used?
This technique is used by upper management and performance consultants as a means of analyzing the entire organization. It provides a systems view for planning and project scope. This diagram is divided into segments or regions, and allows for key inputs and outputs of the organizations internal and external environments to be analyzed.
In the process of creating the framework, analysts will look to see if there are critical areas of concern within each segment or region. Some of the questions that might be asked are:
